Christmas Eve at the Dovers'

Tonight was full of family, food and fun at the Dovers'. Grandma and Grandpa Lubbers arrived from St George at the same time that we arrived and the party began. Cathy's parents were there as well so we had a good group of people together to celebrate. Tiago and Dick were quick friends and we all enjoyed Tiago's big, sweet smiles.

After dinner, it was time for gifts! Cathy was sweet enough to get the boys some spy toys, which they loved. Brent surprised all the men with a little gift of his own: a laser temperature reader! He discovered the nifty tool when an HVAC worker came to the house and used it to get a reading on the temperature coming out of the vents. The men spent the rest of the evening telling us the temperature of lights, books, tables, cars, windows, and even heads. Note: reading the temperature on someone's head is not the best idea in case they move their head and get a laser in the eye. Just ask Brent or Ryan. DeeAnn was happy to receive her gifts from the boys: a book of their trip to Europe this year. Brent also made an extra copy for Ryan, which was really nice. The only thing I missed was acting out and reading the Nativity, which we'll just have to do tomorrow. Other than that, the night was perfect. We really have a great family!
