Dezi has become quite the little reader these days. For a while, he was pretending that these books were hard for him and he hesitated to do his daily reading without whining. I struggled with wanting him to practice, but not wanting him to be frustrated with reading. I decided to tell him that since tv turns his brain to mush, he needs to "work out" by reading, writing, and doing art. He now reads 5 little books (about 20 minutes worth) without complaining. The best is when he reads to Caetano. I think that is when he enjoys it most. Of course, he quite enjoys the reward of watching The Last Airbender afterwards too!
