So, all because Dezi chose wagon wheel pasta for dinner, I suddenly decided to do our FHE lesson and activity on pioneers. We talked about how the pioneers came in hand carts and wagons and that they needed to be prepared with everything they needed for the journey. We focused on things that they, and subsequently we, need to do to be prepared temporally and spiritually. Then we made "wagons" out of potatoes, wagon wheel pasta, toothpicks, paper and tape. Dezi insisted that the wagons carry extra pasta wheels so they would "be prepared" in case a wheel broke. I think they got the lesson...and they LOVED it!
