My family comes to visit

We had a super fun 10 days of visits from family. Mom and Dad came for Memorial Day weekend. One day, we enjoyed the pirate ship at the Toyota dealership while Dad looked at vans followed by pasteis at Central do Brasil. We also enjoyed some delicious veggie burgers (a new recipe from our favorite magazine, ReadyMade). Then, there was the delicious cheesecake for Mom and Dad's wedding anniversary. We also went to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house (Dad missed that one since he was doing research at the Family History Library). Before we knew it, Dad had to go back to work in St George. He left Mom behind so we could spend some extra time together. It was fantastic to have her here, but we didn't spend so much time together because I was working frantically on making a special book for the Greene family. At least she got to spend time with the boys. One day, I did tear myself away and we all went to the splash pool for a bit, which was great fun.

Laura, Brian and baby Lucas arrived late Thursday. They came to pick Mom up and spend a few days with us. The highlight was the zoo on Friday. I am not a the souvernir-buying type, but I decided to buy the matching leopard masks and they were immediately put to hilarious use. Cai was roaring at everyone, especially a little girl nearby. She would come right up to him, he would roar, she would scream, run away, and laugh before starting all over again. It was insanely cute. Everyone loved the train and carousel, along with all the other animals.

They all went to Ikea Saturday morning while I went to Katelynn's funeral. Later that afternoon we all had fun swimming at the gym with Kelly, Phil, and their kids. The only problem was the inconsistent weather. It sure would be nice to have some solid heat. We ended up back at our house for a nice pizza picnic on the green court. Though it was sad to say goodbye to all the fam on Sunday, it will be good to have a little down time.
