Rio Scenarium

After resting a bit, it was time for another adventure, going to the Lapa district for a night out at one of the world's "best live music nightclubs". Getting there had seemed so easy online, but once we got off the metro, we must have gone in the opposite direction. At first, we were going through some obvious student hang out areas, which was cool, but as we tried to get back on track, we ended up in some not so well lit areas. I never felt in danger because we were always near groups of people, but it wasn't comfortable either. Being lost in a big city that has a dangerous reputation is never a good thing, even if it is only for 5 minutes! Once we got there, I was glad we didn't give up. The building with over 10,000 antiques filling every wall and nook, was an amazing place. It wasn't only fantastic visually, but also musically. Live bands played samba and gafiera while the dance floor filled with both super talented, and super novice, dancers. We had made a reservation and had one of the best tables for both band watching and people watching. It would have been the perfect night if I hadn't made some foot in mouth comments to Ryan about some of the couples dancing (Sorry Ryan! Can we forget that part and just remember the awesome ambience?).
