The boys get Grandma & Grandpa time

Throughout Lily's short stay in Utah, we had several opportunities for the boys to spend time with Grandma & Grandpa. While Lily and I (and sometimes Ryan or Earl) met with the missionaries, they often distracted the boys by playing with them. The boys loved it! Dezi got to show off his awesome new winter boots (hand me down from a friend) that he calls his "army stealth boots". He also made up a new game with Grandpa at the school playground. They would stand on a state and the other would call out a color. If they were on that color, they would be "out" and have to call the next color. I was impressed for a four year old! Another day, they all went to a carnival at the school with bounce houses that they boys are still talking about. They also joined us for a big lasagna dinner and a big Chinese dinner with missionaries and Chinese friends and interpreters. It was definitely the busiest we've been around here, but every moment was worth it to know that Lily was finding and accepting the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

My favorite picture of this bunch has to be the ones of Dezi with his makeshift missionary tag. There is one where he is "reading" a Dora book on China to Mao Mei, who got baptized last week. The other is with Lily, who at that point had committed to be baptized. This whole experience was amazing for our family to go through. He got to see the missionaries and his family teaching the gospel in action. He may be a little young to understand, but I hope he will always be able to look back on this as a significant event in his life.
