This year, we finally ventured into the world of gingerbread houses. I actually contemplated making it from scratch! Can I tell you how happy I am that I paid the $10 for the ultimate kit at Costco? Just putting it together and decorating it took us FOREVER! The boys had a fabulous time with this Family Home Evening activity. Immediately upon completion, they wanted to chomp away our masterpiece, but I made them wait. Each day I let them pick a piece of candy until I finally broke down and let them go at it with their hammers. The box said it was edible, but honestly, the actually gingerbread was like cardboard, but the boys thought it was fantastic!
