Art, Ducks, Olympics, and Rivers

ART : Dezi got an art easel from Grandma for his birthday and the kids have certainly been making good use of it. Caetano LOVES finger painting and would do it every day if I let him. Dezi has been drawing lots of submarines lately and Caetano is obsessed with sharks and fish, just like Dezi was at his age.

Oquirrh Lake : One of our favorite activities lately has been going to the lake in Daybreak to feed the ducks and look at the fish. Dezi even named one of the geese, now known as Zac the goose.

Stake Olympics : Our Stake had an Olympics at the park, which provided lots of laughs with two activities in particular. The rope pull was hilarious because Dezi and our neighbor Nathaniel took it so seriously and were super pumped when their team won. They also had way too much fun with the candy toss. They shot out candy from some crazy gun (like the kind they use at big sporting events) and the front row got pelted with it while the rest of the kids ran frantically picking up all the candy they could fit in their pockets. Pretty funny to watch.

River Play after Soccer Practice Dezi's soccer team was so clueless on the field that I thought a little practice would do some good. A bunch of us met up at the park, but practice on a hot day with spacey kids didn't last too long. We spent a lot longer playing in the Open Hill Park's river than we did playing soccer. I brought their swim stuff this time since last time ended with wet clothes anyway.
